Northwest schools regional

The Belfast Primary Schools Regional Table Tennis Tournament, proudly sponsored by Kingfisher Financial, saw 30 pupils from four local primary schools—Strandtown, Forge, Knockbreda, and Andrews Memorial—compete in an exciting day of table tennis at Ormeau Table Tennis Club, “The Mount,” Belfast.

Over three hours of high-quality matches, players battled it out across four age-regulated tournaments, with the following pupils taking home the medals:

PS U12 Boys

🥇 Gold – Tobias Gal (Strandtown PS)
🥈 Silver – Caio Stanley (Strandtown PS)
🥉 Bronze – Patrick Sinclair (Forge PS)
🏅 Consolation – Jack Curran (Andrews Memorial)

PS U12 Girls

🥇 Gold – Darcy Drennan (Andrews Memorial)
🥈 Silver – Georgia Patterson (Strandtown PS)
🥉 Bronze – Pippa Watson (Andrews Memorial)
🏅 Consolation – Sylvia Laforge (Strandtown PS)

PS U10 Boys

🥇 Gold – Vincent Darragh (Strandtown PS)
🥈 Silver – Charlie Francis (Strandtown PS)
🥉 Bronze – [Player Name] (Strandtown PS)
🏅 Consolation – Hugo Herron (Andrews Memorial)

PS U10 Girls

🥇 Gold – Olesia Osmorska (Forge PS)

A Huge Thanks to Our Supporters

Tournament referee Norman McBride extended his gratitude to the teachers and parents for bringing the players to the event. Special thanks were given to schools’ committee member Ala Al-Janabi for assisting with umpiring and medal presentations, and to Ormeau coach Connor Nugent for setting up equipment and ensuring smooth match play throughout the tournament.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to Ormeau Table Tennis Club for providing the hall free of charge and to Kingfisher Financial for their generous sponsorship, supporting the growth of primary school table tennis in Ulster.

Upcoming Regional Events

Two more regional tournaments are scheduled for April:
📍 SE Regional – Banbridge LC, 3rd April
📍 NE Regional – Ballymoney Elim Church, 10th April

The season will conclude with the Ulster Primary Schools’ Individuals Final on 8th May at South Lakes LC, Craigavon.
