Terms and Conditions of Entry
The Series will consist of nine (9) events to be held in various venues throughout the province of Ulster between 01 September 2025 and 30 April 2026. (See appendix A for list of venues)
Each event will consist of a Mixed Open, Over 40’s and Over 60’s.
Prizemoney will be awarded to the winner and runner up in each category (recommended – Mixed Open £50 for winner and £25 for runner up, Over 40’s – £40 and £20, Over 60’s £30 and £15).
Consolation events will be held for each category with trophies being awarded to the winner and runner up.
Ulster ranking points to be awarded at each event with a player’s best seven results counting towards ranking points in the Over 40’s and Over 60’s.
Masters (Over 40’s) ranking points will count towards selection for end of season Inter Provincial Championships.
Each event will receive £250 sponsorship towards costs.
Entry fee to be priced at £12 per category with £2 per entry being retained by TTU to cover costs. All entries will be received online via Cognito.
All events will be run on Tournament Software (TS) with hosting clubs encouraged to arrange for member(s) to attend TS training to enable them to run their own events. If a club is unable to run their own event, TTU will provide a trained person to run the event with the cost (£125) being deducted from £250 sponsorship.
TTU will prepare and publish entry forms for each event.
The hosting club will be responsible for providing all equipment, tournament balls and the appointment of a tournament organiser.
Results to be forwarded to Norman McBride (Masters Ranking Official) and Adrian Brown (TTU Competition Executive).
Regulations and Information
1. A condition of entry to each event is that players agree to abide by TTU’s Code of Conduct which can be accessed on TTU’s website https://www.tabletennisulster.com/code-of-conduct/ .
2. All categories will be played on a Round Robin format for the first round. The top 2 in each group will progress to the second round. A consolation event will be held for players not qualifying for the second round. Matches will be the best of 5 games unless otherwise specified by the referee.
3. The final order in a group shall be determined as per ITTF regulation 3.7.5 for group competitions except that where a player concedes a match he/she shall receive -3 group points.
4. All players will be expected to umpire when required.
5. All players must report to the control table on arrival and must not leave the venue while still in the competition without first obtaining permission from the Referee.
6. The Tournament Referee reserves the right to alter the format of the draw, cancel any category and to restrict admission to the tournament venue. If a category is over-subscribed, then entries will be treated on a last in–first out basis.
7. Event Entry Restrictions: All players must be affiliated to the ITTA. Masters age restrictions – 40/60 years old by end of the calendar year in which tournament takes place.
8. All disputes will be dealt with by the tournament referee and/or TTU’s Events Committee whose decision will be final.
