Ulster players shone at the 2025 Irish Junior Classification, securing multiple podium finishes across age groups in Dublin.Ulster Juniors Impress at National Junior Classification Tournament

The 2025 Irish Junior Classification Tournament took place on Saturday, 13th September, at the National Basketball Arena, Dublin. The event attracted a strong entry of 119 players across 10 age categories (U11–U19), with 48 competitors representing Ulster.

Ulster players delivered a series of excellent performances across the age groups, securing podium finishes in both the boys’ and girls’ events.

Highlights in the main event included:

Nuria Goldston (Glenburn) – 1st place in both U15 Girls and U17 Girls. Nuria had a commanding performance in the U15 event where she only dropped one set throughout the competition.
Aedan McGivern (Craigavon) – 1st place in U19 Boys with a 3-0 victory over Clifford Tan in the final.
Anjali Singh (Ormeau) – 1st place in U19 Girls.

Eimear Hutchinson (Belturbet) – 2nd place in U15 Girls and 2nd place in U17 Girls
Grace Looney (Ormeau) – 2nd place in U19 Girls

Karsten Close (Ormeau) – 3rd place in U15 Boys and 3rd place in U17 Boys
Jack Bailie (Ormeau) – 3rd place in U19 Boys
Rebecca Scott (Ormeau) – 3rd place in U19 Girls
Jane Wilson (Glenburn) – 3rd place in U17 Girls
Polly Smith (Ormeau) – 3rd place in U15 Girls
Reece Maguire (Mourne)– 3rd place in U13 Boys
Sophie Warwick (Coleraine) – 3rd place in U11 Girls

Ulster players also picked up medals in the Consolation Events –
Niamh Mason (Ormeau) – 1st place in U19 Girls
Polly Smith (Ormeau) – 1st place in U17 Girls
Lily Parke (Glenburn) – 2nd place in U19 Girls
Caitlyn Warwick (Coleraine) – 2nd place in U15 Girls
Will Agnew (Coleraine) – 2nd place U11 Boys

These results underline the strength and depth of Ulster’s emerging talent, with players making their mark across multiple age groups. Well done to those Ulster players who were competing at their first National event.
