Table Tennis Ulster recently took part in a Racket Sport Introduction Day for primary school girls, hosted at Lisburn Racquets Club.
More than 40 P7 girls from Brownlee Primary School and St Aloysius Primary School in Lisburn attended the event, where they had the chance to try out table tennis, tennis, and badminton.
Ulster coach Jennifer Thompson led the table tennis sessions, which were a big hit with the girls. During a Q&A session, Jennifer shared her own journey in the sport — from player to coach — and spoke about the many opportunities table tennis has offered her over the years.
The event was part of Sport Northern Ireland’s “Be Seen, Be Heard, Belong” campaign, which aims to inspire more women and girls to get involved in sport.
