Sheridan, Strong & Agnew Triumph at Sport NI Ulster Series – Ormeau Senior Open 2025!

What a fantastic day of table tennis action at David Lloyd Belfast, where almost 60 players battled it out across three events – Open Singles, Masters 40s, and Masters 60s.

Open Singles

Peadar Sheridan (Ormeau) was crowned Open Champion, defeating Ben Watson (Civil Service) 3–1 in a thrilling final.
Peadar powered past Tom Irwin (St Annes) 3–0 in the semi-final, while Ben edged Conor Nugent (Ormeau) 3–2 in a tense 12–10 decider.

A special mention to Karsten Close (Ormeau), who produced the match of his life to beat the finalist Ben Watson in the group stages!

Masters 40s

In the 40s, it was the ever-consistent Daryl Strong (Ormeau) who returned to top form, taking yet another title after a dominant day’s play. Daryl overcame clubmate Phil Wallace (Ormeau) in an all-Ormeau final, after defeating Tomasz Toman (Craigavon) 3–0 in the semis. Phil booked his final place with a hard-fought 3–2 win over Gus Agnew (Kingsland).

Masters 60s

Gus Agnew (Kingsland) went one better in the 60s, lifting the trophy after a 3–1 win over Barry Dickson (Craigavon) in the final. Gus defeated Arnold Morgan (Banbridge) 3–0 in the semis, while Barry got past Roy Coard (Legacurry) 3–0.
